The key to the successful use of any firearm is practice. This is especially true when considering firearms for self-defense situations where they may be concealed and involve innovative draws. With long days and our multiple responsibilities, sometimes finding time to get the range is out of the question. The LaserLyte Target Training System might just be the solution for all us busy females out there (ok, males too).
The LaserLyte Training System has two components. The first is the target and the second is the laser. The LaserLyte Target Trainer records and stores where the installed laser hits the target after a dry fire. It does not, however, display the location of the hit immediately. After you’ve taken as many shots as you would like, you simply point the laser and dry fire at the small circle that says ‘Display’ and it shows the locations of your hits. To reset the Target Trainer, you just point the laser and dry fire at the small ‘Reset’ circle. LaserLyte designed the Target Trainer this way to simulate the delayed feedback that you would receive while shooting at the range. It runs off of 3 AAA batteries. MSRP for the LaserLyte Target Trainer is about $220. It is available at ArmedinHeels.com for less.
Choices for the laser include the LaserLyte Pro Pistol Trainer or the newly released LaserLyte Training Cartridge. The LaserLyte Pro Pistol Trainer works with handguns that have a minimum of a 2” barrel and use 9mm, 40 S&W, 45ACP, 38SPL, .380 auto, 357 Sig, 10mm,or 45 LC. To install the trainer, you simply screw on the included adaptor and press it into the front of the barrel. It is designed to stick out less than ¼” past the muzzle. The 3 replaceable 377 batteries allow for approximately 3,000 shots giving you plenty of practice time in your future. The laser is activated by the sound created by the hammer or striker, allowing it to function with all types of actions. MSRP for the LaserLyte Pro Pistol Trainer is about $110. It is available at ArmedinHeels.com for less.
The other laser option is the LaseryLyte Training Cartridge. The caliber specific cartridge fits right in the pistol chamber. The laser is activated by a switch which is hit by the firing-pin after pulling the trigger. It is easy to install and has no requirements of barrel length for use. Because the cartridge is rimless, it remains in the firearm during dry fire. A rubber stopper protects the firing-pin and helps to simulate real firing. The LaseryLyte Trainig Cartridges are caliber specific. Currently, they are made in 9mm, .380ACP, 40, and 45ACP. The 3 377 batteries, which are also replaceable, allow for approximately 3,000 shots. MSRP for the LaserLyte Training Cartridge is about $110. It is available at ArmedinHeels.com for less.
Regardless of which laser you choose, the LaserLyte Training System is ideal for practicing trigger control and accuracy when drawing from different scenarios. Use the LaserLyte Training System to practice drawing from a Concealed Carry Purse or Compression Holster to stay safe and remain Armed in Heels.
